Polyvagal Theory meets Yoga Philosophy

“Truth, like gold, is to be obtained not by its growth, but by washing away from it all that is not gold.”

-Leo Tolstoy

Dear Students,

Synthesis. That is where truth emerges. I love to sift and sort through different systems and traditions until I find the gold of confluence.

At the Bend Yoga Festival, I presented one of my favorite synthesis experiments: Polyvagal Theory meets Yoga Philosophy. It’s a dance of east and west, ancient and modern, philosophy and psychology. Most importantly, it endeavors to take nervous system information and provide guidelines for application. In other words, what do we do with this? How do we use it? How do we practice it?

A few days after the presentation, I recorded the content in a podcast-like episode and posted in the App. Listen here: Polyvagal Theory meets Yoga Philosophy

If you’re hungry for this type of synthesized learning and want precise practices for nervous system calibration, join the Make Practice Miraculous Challenge. Enrollment opens next week. During the 6-weeks, you develop your inner listening, get to know your nervous system, and re-define practice so it has a bigger impact on your life.

May your practice be golden,

Alison
